How did the first people populate the world? There are many theories. One theory suggests that near the end of the last Ice Age, Paleo-Indians migrated across a land bridge that connected once Asia and North America. Over thousands of years, they then traveled through Canada, what is today the United States, and into South America. This is called the Land Bridge Theory.

In Montana I think it was 2003 they were hauling dinosaur bones and a T-Rex thigh bone fell out. scientists found blood vessels in the bone with blood cells in there. so,in first period Ms. Stephens they can definitely clone that mammoth's DNA genes and put in those strands of DNA into its closest relitive. Like the dinosaurs closest relitive is the chicken

Scientists can do a lot of different things. My guess is that they have some sort of a "cloning" machine that they can use to see if the DNA still can be processed to make a ancient, and extinct, mammal come back to life on Earth.

I think they were very scared but also very normal because they didn't know they were making history. They just knew they needed to eat! :-0 Good question!!!!

It was a religious thing...they believed their gods would punish them by making the weapons break if the women used them. I'm not sure why they thought that...we'll see a repeating pattern down through history of the role of women being often given less importance sometimes than men. Its not that people were bad who thought this...its just the way culture was and the way people believed at the time. Things are very different now for most cultures, but there are still places in the world where women are viewed as less than men.

I would say if there was an extended drought, there may have been water issues but typically the Ice Age was not plagued by drought. Ice could always be melted. :-) I would say this was a big source of their water.

it would probably be hours before it melted.

Did the Paleo Indians ever use mammoths for transportation.

I LOVE this question! I don't know, but thinking about it is really cool. I would say most likely not because mammoths were too big and too unpredictable to domesticate. Paleo-Indians did, however, use wolf-dogs, the ancestors of modern-day dogs, and horses as pack animals. Horses as we know them did not exist in North or South America until the 1500s though. The first horses were a short, stout-type animal that went extinct with the mammoths. :-( They did not reappear until Spanish explorers brought them to the Americas in the 16th Century.

Where did palo inden use the bath room

Great question, although a little awkward to discuss. People of the distant past used the bathroom outside. When camped, Paleo-Indians would designate a spot far from camp and their water source. They would dig ditch-like pit and this was their bathroom. After using the bathroom they would cover their waste with dirt much as an animal would to keep predators from smelling them. Even though this was a working solution to their potty needs, it was not without problems. Often the waste would leak into the ground water and make them sick. Luckily for them, they moved a lot as nomads so they were not in the same bathroom spot for extended periods of time.

I think the Land Bridge Theory is closest to actual events, although nothing is out of the realm of possibility. I think the fact that modern-day Native Americans (the descendants of the Paleo-Indians) all have Asian DNA is hard to dispute. :-)

This ancient tribe appeared in our continent at the end of the last Ice Age, entering the continent from Asia. Their name, Paleo, actually comes from the Greek word “palaios,” (pal-uh-use-a) meaning ancient. They inhabited the southwestern United States and northern Mexico between 10,000 and 40,000 years. Archeologists have very little to go by as to the Paleo Indians beliefs, religion, language, celebrations, ceremonies, mournings, and culture such as dance and family relationships. Like many tribes, it is believed that the Paleo Indians were nomadic people who primarily were hunters. They traveled in tribes of between 20 and 50 people. When they first began hunting, they probably trapped smaller animals. But they are known for inventing spears with stone points that could be thrown by using an atlatl, but before they created spears,. A tribe of Paleo Indians may have even worked together to herd larger game over a cliff, killing it for food.
